The road from Shimla to Kaza is good but the Kaza Manali road is in a terrible state. For the most part of it, there is no road at all, just a dirt road. You can complete the circuit though, it will be open in Sep
Dear Mr. Vargis Khan,

From New Delhi our train tickets have already booked on 12.10.2022The vehicle will be Innova. Please guide us regarding Clothing & weather conditions for this journey. Also guide us that whether we can use Rohtang Pass or we should travel through Atal Tunnel for this journey. Hope you can understand our tight tour schedule. We solicit your valuable guideline.

60/M , always follow your advice and add to your blogs too. This time going to Simla Sangla Chitkul,Rakchham Kalpa Sarahan Simla by driver driven Inova from 16th to 21st of June with my another 60 years friend. Any value added support and suggestions?
Can I take Maruti Zen old model to spite tour…I took it to Leh via Manali and back via same root.
Hi Vargis,
The main road from Jeori to Sarahan is functional. I used it on Apr 29 and 30.
Recong Peo to Poo and Poo to Khab road conditions have been improved and were quite nice on the whole, except for a handful of patches or wherever some construction is ongoing. This is the status as on May 2.
Recong Peo to Kalpa has an alternate route which is relatively better and avoids the narrow and steep Kalpa village route. However, Maps still shows the original route and so many people miss the new route. Got to know about this from fellow travellers on May 1 after I reached Kalpa.
I hope this information is helpful.
Thank you Prashanth Bhai. I updated the article based on your information.

Hi VK,
Can you briefly mention the motorable road access to Hango village, Tashirang Rong Gompa and Mane village?
In month of August*
Bhai I know there is a road that goes to Hango, assuming we are both talking about the one near Nako.
I do not think there is a road to Tashirang Rong Gompa. As far as I know, it is accessible on foot only.
There is a road that goes to Mane Village, assuming we are both talking about the one near Sopona Lake.

Is it ok to travel in last week of August
There are landslides and heavy warnings issued all over Himachal right now. It should be Ok by end of August but make sure you check about the weather conditions then
Is it the right time to travel to Kalpa in July? Are the condition of roads ok or dangerous? What would you advice. I want to drive down there.
Road conditions are a mix of good and bad but you should be prepared for the monsoon season.
