Review – Freshlook Contact Lenses

by Vargis.Khan

Quite honestly I wasn’t even sure that I was going to write this review but then decided to do so in order to share my experience. I recently started using contact lenses, the colored ones and just for the sake of changing the look. My eyesight is fine so I have never had a need of using glasses or contact lenses and this was my first time that I decided to try changing the color of my eyes. Since I had no knowledge in the area, I visited an optician near my place and the first pair of contacts that I bought was a Hazel colored Freshlook contact lens. I used these only for 2 days and bought a pair of Bausch and Lomb that I am very happy with. Quite honestly, I would never recommend using contacts from this company to anyone and below are a few reasons why. Please not that review is based on my comparison of the two companies and it is just my one off experience. There is a high chance that the pair I bought may have been defective but I also checked with a few other people who use contact lenses on a regular basis and even their feedback was more or less the same.

The first hassle is putting on the lenses; I am talking about the Freshlook ones. It would also take a little while and a few attempts before you are able to put the lens in your eye and the reason is that it keeps sticking to your finger. You will put it on your finger tip, try to place it on your eye but it just won’t come off your finger. Before you are finally able to put it on, it will be a few attempts and you will have a teary eye. On the other hand, I am able to put on the Baush and Lomb ones with very little effort and within seconds. Quality of the lens too I must say is bad. I admit that a contact lens is supposed to be soft but the Freshlook ones are kind of extra soft. There is always a constant fear of the lens getting inverted. Several times I had to pick out the lens and turn it inside out because it got inverted while I was trying to put it on and it kept getting stuck to my finger. Third and the biggest reason why I gave up Freshlook is because the lens just won’t settle on the eye. Everytime I would blink, the lens would move with the eyelid causing pain, discomfort and most of all, a blurry vision. It is also quite dangerous because if the lens continues to move, it may cause infection or damage to the eye. Their price is a little lower than the other brands but the difference is not really marginal so the cost effective part too isn’t really there.

In the end, I decided that it just wasn’t worth all the hassle and the risk to the eye so I threw away the Freshlook contacts within days of buying and went for Baush and Lomb that I am very comfortable with. Again as I said, this review is based on my experience and feedback of a few people I know. You may have had a better experience and if yes, please feel free to comment and share.
