I recently bought a new Pole Star rucksack and below is a brief review of how I found this product to be. I purchased the rucksack online a few months ago for a trip to Spiti Valley and since then have used it for 3 other trips. The trip to Spiti was in my car, followed by a motorcycle ride to a nearby hill station; and then finally a few days of Kashmir that traveled to in a flight. So I have actually used this bag in multiple type of journeys and must say that I am quite satisfied by it. Considering the fact that you can get it online for just about a 1000 bucks makes it a great buy indeed.
To be honest, I bought this bag just for the sake of buying a new one and because there was a sale going on at Amazon.I was actually looking for some other item to buy when I noticed this bag on sale for about Rs. 800. I had my trip to Spiti coming up at that time so I decided to buy this bag for the journey. The price for the bag now is just above Rs. 1000 but I paid Rs. 800 at the time of the sale so it actually made it an every better deal for me.
Pole Star Rucksack Review
Now coming to the bag, its built quality is great for the price. It was actually the first time I heard the name Pole Star; but after doing a Google search for the brand, the reviews I read were mostly positive about it.
The material quality of the bag is Superb; finishing looks stylish and stitching is fairly strong. It comes in quite bright colors and looks great. It has a lot of space and can be used for many purposes. Zips are strong and smooth. It has one main compartment with 2 bottle holders and 2 small packs. Outer material is tough with good padding. It is quite comfortable and doesn’t put any strain on shoulders or back. The only negative point is there is no cushioned holding handle at the upper side. The need arises sometimes while traveling in trains and public transports.
I used it for a bike ride in Himachal in monsoon season. It is actually a big bulky for motorcycle but I managed to rope it around nonetheless. As it was expected in late August, it started to rain on the way and quite a bit. The bag is not entirely waterproof because a bit of moisture found its way in; but considering the kind of rain we encountered in those three days, I am still inclined towards saying that it did a good job at being water resistant.

Final Verdict
I am still to use the bag for trekking purpose so cannot really comment much on it. But from the looks of it, I can say that it will be great for short treks but not for the long and serious ones. For rest of the purposes, Pole Star Rucksack is a great bag and I will highly recommend it. I hope the review above was of help.
