Hi
I want to go for local sightseeing in Ladakh including visit to Nubra, Pangong etc. Is it suggested to go by bikes or should I hire a cab? How are the roads? Can you suggest from where we can book bikes online?

It depends on your own personnal preference really. You can book a cab if it fits in to the budget or rent a motorcycle as well. Do not book in advance. Bikes available for rent are not usually that well maintained. If you pay online in advance, you will be stuck with whatever bike they give you. Go there, check out different motorcycles at different rentals, take a test ride and go for the one that seems best.

Thank you for your response. Could you please let me know how are the roads? Are they good for motorbikes? Is there too much of mountain riding or cliff riding which is not recommended on bike?
I just want to ensure that bike ride, if opted, is safe and comfortable and not too tiring.

Roads are a mix of good and bad. As long as you have decent enough riding experience, have been to the hills on motorcycle before than you should be able to manage it.

Hi – Yes you can rent a bike in Leh, use it for local sightseeing and drop it at Manali. Check the drop option with rental agency first and they will charge you extra Rs. 10-15000 for this.
