Ladakh Tempo Traveller Rate List 2024 – 2025

by Vargis.Khan

If you were planning a trip to Ladakh in near future with friends or family and were thinking of hiring a tempo traveller; then below is the Ladakh tempo traveller rate list for the year 2023 – 24 that can be of help.

Confused about whether you should hire a taxi or a tempo traveller? Well, to be honest, there is not much of a difference in rates of both. A tempo traveller will cost you just about 20% more than a taxi. For example, a taxi for 3 days round trip from Leh covering Nubra Valley and Pangong will cost you around Rs. 20,000. For a tempo traveller, on the other hand, you will pay about Rs. 24,000.

So if you were in a group of more than 6 people, I would recommend that you rent a tempo traveller than hiring 2 taxis. If less than 6 people, then go for a taxi. For taxi rates, please take a look at Ladakh Taxi Union Rates.

For booking a tempo Traveler in Leh, please contact Kunal @ 9910 402 252. Or you can also contact me on Instagram.

Dear Vargis Khan,
I found so many important tips from your blogs. We are 12 member group of 4 friends and their family members. We are planning to visit Leh, Ladakh in mid june 2020 (14/15 days trip ). Is there any helath hazard for the people aged 50 plus . If yes, what precautions can be taken. Is staying in tent at Pangong wise enough at that time. Can we book tempo traveller from Chandigarh to Leh ( package / drop only ), Return via Srinagar. Our tour programme as below :
Chandigarh-leh via manali/keylong/jispa. In leh ( Local sightseeing/zanskar valley/ Pangong Lake ( stay )/ nubra valley ( stay or back )& Shyok village via Khardungla Pass . Whether Turtuk / Tsomoriri lake visit can be done in this tour.
Please guide us accordingly .
With regards,
Sanjoy Das.

Hi Rakesh – Rohit just got married so maybe that is why he is not answering his phone. Give it a couple of weeks and he will be back in Leh. And yes, you can go until Siachen base camp in April.

Hi Vargis,

First off, let me congratulate you and give you a huge thumbs up on this amazing blog: a goldmine of information, written eloquently and structured so well. It has helped thousands of people to plan their trips and continues to do so. Cheers, brother; keep it up!
I too need your help and opinion in planning a tour of Ladakh.
We are a group of 8 people and are going to visit Ladakh in November for 3 days–flying down to Leh 10 AM on Nov 10 and return flight 8 AM on Nov 13. I know this is a bad plan in terms of the month and only 3 days, but this is what we could manage.
From whatever I have read on this blog, I’m thinking of booking a Tempo Traveler in Leh and cover as much as we can. Here is the tentative itinerary. Let me know what you think and please suggest better alternatives, if any:

1. Day 1, 10 Nov: Hotel check in, ILP arrangement, local sightseeing. Which places would you suggest?
2. Day 2, 11 Nov: Leh to Nubra Valley. Stay in the valley for the night. Can we cover till Panamik and come back on the Turtuk side and after sightseeing stay there for the night?
2(a) The rates for Tempo Traveller mention separate rates for Panamik side and for Turtuk side. Will there be extra charge if we go to Panamik and come back to Turtuk side?
3. Day 3, 12 Nov: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso.
3(a)Can we cover Tso Moriri too on this day, stay somewhere on the way to Leh, and reach airport in time the next morning?
3(b) If not Tso Moriri, then should we stay somewhere near Pangong Tso or come back to Leh on the same day? The flight is next day morning 8 AM.
4. Since you have mentioned that November is not the best time to visit, will we find accommodation and transport easily? Would the rates be standard or higher than usual?
5. We want to stay in dormitory type rooms. Can you recommend any hotels and also someone for Tempo Traveler?

I understand this is a big list of questions, but we would heartily appreciate your inputs.
A million thanks in advance and keep up the awesome job!

Love and gratitude,
Abhinav

Hi Abhinav,

Thank you for your kind words brother.

1. Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Leh Market. Do not stress, take rest and acclimatize.
2. Yes if you started early from Leh.
2 (a) – Not really since it will be offseason anyway.
3 (a) No
3 (b) Yes, start early from Nubra, reach Pangong and come back to Leh. Do not stay at Pangong.
4. Yes. Rates may be a bit higher.
5. Dormitory at this time will be tough. Talk to Rohit in leh @ 9999622213 or 9910722252. He runs a hotel in Leh. Can arrange your stay, permits and temp traveler at better rates.
