Below are a few Aharbal waterfall photos that I clicked on a recent trip. Aharbal is a hill station in the southwestern part of Kashmir Valley, located about 70 kilometers south of Srinagar. The place is known most for its spectacular waterfall, often referred to as the Niagara Falls of Kashmir.
The waterfall is formed when the Veshaw River or Nallah Veshaw falls noisily 25 meters and 7 meters through a narrow gorge of granite boulders. The place is quite peaceful and suitable for expeditions, trekking, photography fishing, etc.
Aharbal Waterfall Photos
I was recently on a road trip to Kashmir. We went exploring some lesser-known and remote areas of the valley. Aharbal was a part of our itinerary, and I was totally stumped by the natural beauty of this hardly-known but highly beautiful part of our country.
If this waterfall was located anywhere else in India, like in the state of Uttarakhand or Himachal, I am sure it would have been too crowded and long destroyed now.
The only reason probably why this particular wonder of a waterfall still survives beautifully is because not a long many people know about this. It is however a hot favorite among the locals they just love to come out here to picnic.
On local holidays and festivals like Eid, the entire place is swamped with local people looking for a quick outing with family.
So if you too are planning on visiting Kashmir anytime soon, make sure you visit Aharbal as well which can easily be done in a day from Kashmir. For more details, please read How to Plan a Visit to Aharbal Waterfall from Srinagar. To begin with, here is a short video showing how beautiful this waterfall looks during the winter season.

Very beautiful picture. I feel like to visit the place in my Kashmir trip. May I know, do I need to trek? I am 63 years old woman. Can’t trek.

Yes you can definitely visit and you must, I will recommend it. There is no trekking involved. The car will go right to the waterfall but you will have to walk a little and climb down a few steps to reach the end point.
See this article please for a detailed description on how to visit here.
