WPZoom Prologue Theme Review

by Vargis.Khan

There are thousands of themes available for WordPress, both free and premium. I earlier coded this website in html but then later decided to move to WordPress primarily for convenience and to save time. For the first one year, I used a free theme which was working well but due to several reasons, I finally decided to buy a premium theme. After doing a lot of research and checking out several themes, I settled on buying the Prologue theme from WPZOOM. Here is my review of how I found the theme and services offered by WPZOOM.

Design: WPZOOM had been around since 2008 and have over 50 themes available to buy from their website. All their themes haves professional polished designs. The layout looks pretty neat, on the whole pretty simplistic in appearance but clean and professional. Agreed that they are not the most eye catching themes available but neither are they completely minimalistic. You can find a wide range of themes including business, magazine, news, portfolio and multimedia.

Functionality: I must say that I was a little disappointed on this front. Not everyone knows coding and cannot afford to make changes in the theme by looking at the coding. I was expecting a little easier customization options in theme options but did not find that many.

Support: I have had one instance when I needed to make some changes to the theme. I posted a query on the WPZOOM and got the support within 24 hours, so they are okay on that front as well.

Speed: No complaints regarding site slowing down. Their themes are light and load within seconds.

Pricing: This is I believe where most of the people would turn away from WPZOOM. These guys are definitely expensive. Even most basic of their themes would cost you $75 which I think is a bit ridiculous. The developer license is even costlier than that. There are similar themes available at a way lesser price from other companies.

Overall Value: If you do not mind paying a little extra and just intend to run a simple blog, I would say WPZOOM is a great option. I do however wish that they will reduce the prices or not many people will buy from them.

With so many free themes and their reviews on wordpress.org, what is the advantage of a paid theme-it seems like well-reviewed free WP themes would be just as good or in some cases better than many paid ones.
