I recently upgraded my Mahindra Thar with a hard top and some other modifications including installing a whole new music system. For the stereo, I bought a Sony WX900BT and after using the product for a while; below is a brief review of how I found it. My overall experience I must admit was quite satisfactory. Sony is one of the most reputed brands in audio market and WX900BT lives up to its name. It is a double din unit which when combined with a good quality sub-woofer and speakers, is capable of giving a complete wow experience. It has quite an impressive list of features with one major drawback (that I could find); details on which are further mentioned in the article.<\/p>\n

To be quite honest, most of the people advised me against Sony when I was considering which stereo to buy. Brands like JBL or Pioneer were highly recommended but for some reason, I still decided to take a chance with Sony and so far, my decision did not prove to be wrong.<\/p>\n

Music<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Sony WX900BT has a powerful built-in amp, aided by some great sound-tweaking tools. \u00a0Apart from the usual equalizer presets and Mega Bass features, it has quite a wide range of choices to improve sound quality. It has been a while since I bought this stereo and I am still experimenting with some of the features. Bass is quite powerful and it has a different option to tweak the subwoofer. Overall, no matter what kind of music you listen to, you will be quite pleased with the sound this stereo produces.<\/p>\n

Looks & Display<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Without doubt, it is quite a stylish unit and looks great sitting on my dashboard. The high-contrast display is easy to read in virtually any lighting conditions. While playing the music, the whole unit lights up producing a great sync in effect. It has different colors that it keeps changing every few seconds. Range of colors is quite wide that you have the option to choose from.<\/p>\n

Bluetooth<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

It has a built in Bluetooth feature to pair your mobile phone and talk hands-free in case you get a call while driving. The same Bluetooth compatibility can be used to directly stream music from your phone and play it via Stereo. Pairing is quite easy. All you need to do is bring your phone close to the big volume knob and it pairs automatically.<\/p>\n

Calling<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

It comes with a mic for calling purpose; that can be installed anywhere per your choice. The wire was quite long enough so you can chose from whatever place you find comfortable. As for the calling, the voice was crystal clear and mic reception was good too. I never had\u00a0 a problem on the call with other person telling me that they cannot hear properly or at all. I have installed the mic never the steering wheel so the distance is quite great but I am still audible on all calls.<\/p>\n

Songpal & Smartphone Integration<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The stereo has a feature of Songpal which lets you access all the features and song list via your smartphone. Once you have stereo installed, go to Google Play Store and download Songpal by Sony. Once that is done, pair your phone with the stereo via Bluetooth and its done. All the feature of the stereo, like changing presets, bass, tweaking sound; pretty much all of it can be done via your phone. The best part however is the access to your play list. All the songs on your USB drive will come listed on your phone. All your need to do is scroll and select the song you want to listen to.<\/p>\n

Sony WX900BT Review – Final Verdict<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

I am not really much of technical side when it comes to stereos so kept the review simple and layman terms. In the end, I will say that Sony WX900BT is value for money. I am pairing this with 4 Sony Speakers and a Woodman 8 Inch Compact Bass Tube<\/a><\/strong>. It is a great unit which<\/p>\n
