Continuing from the previous article<\/a><\/strong> covering several important aspects about planning a trip to Chanshal Pass; in this article I will lay down an example of an itinerary for Chanshal Pass that you can follow; depending on the number of days you have in hand. For the sake of this article, I will be assuming that you are starting from Delhi. If you are coming from some other place, the travel plan for first and last day will be different. It could be\u00a0 longer or even shorter; depending on your start point. Another assumption I will be making is that you are traveling by your own vehicle.<\/p>\n

If however you are traveling by public transport; below mentioned itinerary for Chanshal Pass will be tough to follow. In this case you can drop me a note in the comments section at the end of this article; and I can let you know how to travel using public transport.<\/p>\n

Before continuing, I will strongly recommend that you read through the previous article How to Plan your Trip to Chanshal Pass<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to reach Chanshal Pass, Rohru will pretty much become the base. An 80 odd kilometers long road from Rohru runs till Dodra Kwar, crossing the Chanshal Peak on the way. This road passes through Dodra and ends in Kwar which means that you cannot take an alternate route for your return journey. You will again have to return to Rohru and from there you can take a different road to reach home.<\/p>\n

Minimum Time Required for Chanshal Pass Trip<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

From Delhi, minimum time required for a trip to Chanshal Pass is 3 days; however that would mean that you will ride or drive for almost 12-14 hours on Day 1 and Day 3. An ideal time for this trip would really be 5 days because then you will not be traveling too much on either day and would be able to enjoy the journey better. Any more than 5 days and you can add more places to your trip plan. I will recommend itineraries below for 3, 4 and 5 days each.<\/p>\n

3 Days Itinerary for Chanshal Pass<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

This plan is applicable more for someone who is accustomed to riding or driving for long hours. With 3 days, your trip would only mean that you just added Chanshal Pass in your list of places visited. Travel fatigue is bound to settle in because of the long journey on badly broken roads. Itinerary followed will be as mentioned below.<\/p>\n

  • Day 1: Delhi \u2013 Shimla \u2013 Narkanda \u2013 Tikkar \u2013 Rohru<\/li>\n
  • Day 2: Rohru \u2013 Chanshal Pass \u2013 Rohru<\/li>\n
  • Day 3: Rohru \u2013 Delhi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    If you only have 3 days in hand, I would advise that you take the Narkanda route to reach Rohru. Yes you will still be on bad roads but it will be lesser than what you will find on Kharapatthar route. Start really early from Delhi; by 4 AM to ensure that you have enough time to reach Rohru. Any later than 4 and you will struggle to reach there in time.<\/p>\n
