Trip to Leh-Ladakh postponed

by Vargis.Khan

Much to my disappointment, our annual trip to Leh-Ladakh this year had to be postponed. Initially the plan was to visit in July first week for 10 days but due to unseen circumstances we had to cancel the plan for July. To add to this, we cannot plan this again in the month of August and September so the only available option is to plan again for the month of October.
Only upside to this is that I have never done Manali Leh highway in October which I can get to do this year. I know it gets very cold at this time but it also adds to the feel of adventure. We can expect to find snow at least at Baralacha La and there wont be much crowd in Leh at that time. First couple of weeks of October is the time when the tourist season end and roads are about to be closed. 33rd Kalachakra is being held in Leh this year in first two weeks of July so it was anyways going to be very crowded which I was not really very happy about. At least there wont be much crowd in October.
Another downside however is my plan to cross Sach pass this year. I had initially included in Ladakh itinerary for July but even that plan had to be trashed for now. I actually doubted it in the first place If we would be able to cover it since Sach Pass is still closed with no opening in sight in coming few days. This I would have to plan in September this year because Sach Pass in October would probably be closed.
For now it remains to be a plan. Hoping we wont have to cancel and will be able to travel.
