Sach Pass Declared Open: Historically, Sach Pass usually opens towards Mid June after all other roads have long been declared open. The reason behind this is the heavy amount of snow this narrow and dangerous stretch receives each year. It is also usually the first pass to close in the region. However, due to the less amount of snowfall this year, even Sach Pass was finally declared open for civilian traffic yesterday.

The route as a matter of fact was already in use by the local traffic. A few tourists too managed to cross it over but an official announcement was yet to be made. The snow clearing work was still in progress and as a matter of fact, is still going on. Several vehicles however were allowed to cross over from both sides of the pass.
Sach Pass Declared Open for Year 2018
A friend of mine drove over the pass yesterday. I have posted a few videos and pictures of the entire route at our Community Forum. Please click the link below to check.
If you are planning to travel to Sach Pass in coming few days, please expect to find a lot of snow and bad road conditions towards the top of Sach. Snow walls at some places are almost 10 to 15 feet high. To be on a safer side, I will still recommend that you give it at least a couple of weeks before heading this way. Temporary road closures due to avalanches and ongoing restoration work are not really uncommon in early June. Add to it the fact that you can actually get stranded at Sach Pass in case of any emergency. If you however must travel now, then I will recommend extreme caution.
I hope the information above was of help. If you have any further questions; please feel free to ask in the comments section below; or at our Community Forum; and I will be glad to answer.
