These are some shots of Pangong Lake that I clicked of this magnificent beauty during my several trips of Ladakh. Not really claiming these to be the best shots of the lake but not really that bad either, right?
In last few years, this lake has become the very symbol of Ladakh. I remember the first time I visited here about a decade ago and there wasn’t anything here at all. We in fact had trouble finding a place to stay and had to sleep on the ground in a dirty room that a villager was kind enough to provide at Spangmik. Much however has now changed, thanks to Bollywood and the movie “3 Idiots” to be specific. It is no longer that remote Pangong Lake anymore. It is the Pangong that every Indian is familiar with now and wishes to see.

If you can afford to take some time out than a visit to Ladakh is must for every Indian. The beauty of this place is like nowhere else in India. As a matter of fact, it sometimes even feels like you are out of India somewhere. The very remoteness of the place, the calm, the tranquility becomes its charm. In an overcrowded country like ours, it becomes hard to believe that there really is a place as sparsely populated like Ladakh.
And it is not really just the natural beauty of the region. People here too are quite amazing; living in a culture that is a mixed blend of Tibetan and North Indian; Buddhism and Islam. In short, it is quite an amazing experience to be here.
