You are doing a great job. We crossed Leh Manali on 30th. Crossed Tanglang la, Lachung la, Nakee la , Baralacha la on the same day. Road after Tanglangla just after Sarchu is horrible. No road at all, scary at times while we were travelling in deep valley with a river just near the road. It looked like a dilapidated stone quarry .
Suraj taal was all frozen, we had snow fall on Baralacha with huge snow walls. Baralacha was treacherous yet the most beautiful pass. Ta
nglangla was most manageable one.
On 24th we crossed Zojila from Srinagar side. That was our first pass , scary , full of snow , road condition was not good at top. Only saving grace was one side traffic. Khardungla we crossed on 27th . We were stopped at South Pullu as we did not have snow chain, but after waiting for one hour they allowed us. We saw vehicles slipping , but we were very careful , so without snow chain we managed.
Crossed Chang la on 29th morning. it was spread out pass , it was good.
Roads between Nubra to Pangong is totally dug up by BRO. May be the scene will change after the road work gets completed in a year or so.
Khardungla to Nubra has steep , narrow roads just near to huge mountains. But these are motorable . OUr learning and moto for the whole journey , prepare for uncertainty at every point in mountains. any thing can hit you , right from rains, snow, AMS, change of program, keep atleast 2 to 3 days extra. Drive slow, drive carefully and drive safely.
Overall , a journey of lifetime awaits you in this trip. Enjoy it.
Overall it was a life time experience. My husband drove his bolero all through . The memory of this journey will be with us all through our life.

Hello Vinayak – There is no direct Delhi to Chandigarh route. It is either Leh via Srinagar or Leh via Manali. You should cover both. Reach Leh via Srinagar / Kargil and return via Manali.

Hi Bro,

Its Vinayak here from Bengaluru. We have planned for Leh Ladakh trip this June end. We went through your blogs and was very much helpful. Its a great explanation which will help the travellers. I just wanted your suggestion on the route map. Leh can be reached via Delhi-Chandigarh-Leh and also through Delhi-Manali-Leh. It will be great help if you guide us the route map. Have mixed comments on the route. Some says Delhi-Chandigarh-Leh-Manali will be best route so that you can cover all places. Some says Delhi-Manali-Leh and back to Manali via same route.

Please guide us the route map with some details.

Thanks…!
