In this article, I will share Ladakh festival dates in the year 2023. If you are planning a trip to Ladakh in near future and would like to attend any of the local festivals, you can draft your itinerary according to the schedule below.

If you want to truly experience the culture of a region, perhaps the best way out is to visit there at a festive time. Festivals are a time of merry-making when the true heritage, beliefs, and values of a place and its people come to the front. Ladakh is no exception to this theory.

A common thought is that Ladakh is a barren wasteland; where the prominent colors are the brown of the mountains, white of the snow, and blue of the lakes.

To some extent, it holds true but would you be surprised if I told you that Ladakh is way more colorful than you ever imagined? Attend any of the fairs and festivals of Ladakh and you are bound to be mesmerized by the colorful celebration of every aspect of life here.

The post below only contains the dates of the festivals but if you want to know more, please take a look at Details of Festivals Celebrated in Ladakh and Zanskar Valley.

Is the yuru kabgyat festival happening on 29-30 June or 29-30 Jul 2019? You’ve written July but i read at 2-3 other places that its in June. Can you please confirm if possible?

Are you 100% positive that Sept 25-28 are dates for ladakh festival 2019? because the manager at grand dragon hotel still says J&K Tourism still hasn’t proclaimed those dates? Also is each festival day different so that we should stay all 3 days in leh to see the festival? We plan to spend 7 or 8 nights in Ladakh, 2 in nubra valley, do monastery tour from leh, concerned about high altitude so may not go up to lakes. What’s your opinion? Thanks a lot, Durga

Vargis or Glenn, What were the actual dates for the Lafakh Fest in 2918? W are planning to tour the area in 2019 and would like to know if Sept. 25-28 is relaiable. We have seen various dates for 2017-2019.

But yes, to answer your question, a date between 20th to 30th September is safe to assume. The actual dates of the festival in Ladakh change and get announced by the Lamas each year.

Vargis:
Thanks as ususal for you amazing and very generous sharing of valuable informa
tion to traveller like myself. On one item, I would kindly ask your reconfirmation of 2018 Ladakh Festival dates so we can ascertain exactly when the final dates of the 2018 Ladakh Festival is being held in September.

We have seen several differing dates online, from 20-23 SEPT to 25-28 SEPT 2018 and even one 1-15 SEPT 2018, which seems way out of whack….

We need to confirm now exactly when the Festival starts and ends.
Can the dates of 25-28 September be confirmed?

Please advise; thank you.
