I just returned from an amazing 10 day road trip to Kashmir. It was a group of 3 of us and we covered some major tourist destinations; as well as some really remote and interior areas of Kashmir. It was an amazing trip through some really mesmerizing valleys. Uttarakhand and Himachal are beautiful in their own ways; but one trip to Kashmir and you realize why Mughals called it the paradise on earth. The kind of meadows and valleys you will see here are hard to find elsewhere. The highlight of our trip was the trip where we reached the last check post on Indian side of the border. The soldier posted there pointed his finger towards a nearby hill and said, “You see that? That is Pakistan”.
I will post more details of the trip soon. If you have however asked me a question in last 10 day and I haven’t replied to your comment then I do apologize. I did not have access to a computer at this time. However please feel free to comment and ask again and I will respond at earliest.

Bala Bhai,
1. Not sure about Kashmir Port. Never dealt with them
2. If you have sent them your IDs then yes, they can arrange for the permits in advance and give it to you on arrival
2. September will be a bit too cold for rafting
Sir we a group of 8 members are planning to go leh on a 7 days short trip in a fortuner. Pl advise which route will be best. We will be going from Ludhiana on September 17, 2018
Hi Raj Kumar – Ludhina to Ladakh and back in 7 days is a bit too short. I would suggest that you either 3-4 days more or reach Ladakh by air.
Waiting for your detail write up. I am making a plan for 7days Dhaka – Kolkata – Srinagar by air.
Regards
Mahfuza
Hi Mahfuza – Working on it now. When are you planning to go?
Brother, I want to visit Kashmir in March 2019. I want to cover Srinagar, Pahelgum, Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Zojila pass. I want to enjoy the beautiful Pahelgum and Sonmarg full two days. Which way will be better for me to start. I have to back Bangladesh from Delhi.
Regards
Mahfuza
